![]() Smart Steering and Auto Acceleration also return from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe along with a new feature allowing players to freely roam on any course of their choice. Although a small but very noticeable feature, Lakitu shares his role in game with a new character called Blue Boo with both of them spectating and rescuing people on assigned courses. Mission mode also returns with the catch that they are straight ports from Mario Kart DS but this is made up for with the Double Dash feature which allows two racers in one kart similar to Mario Kart: Double Dash!! (both of these are in the base game). There are now four weight classes: feather, light, medium and heavy. ![]() The game is heavy on DLC, although these are purchased for free if you buy the game on cartridge. One difference in the game is that Mirror Mode is now for 200cc and not 150cc. As well as these, there are now plane sections which is fairly similar to glider sections except they last longer and your loses its wheels whilst in them. Gameplay is fairly similar to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with gliders, underwater sections and anti-gravity returning along with bikes and ATVs. ![]()
